The painting works of the reinforced-concrete chimney at the No. 1 "Pyrolysis" section of the Ethylene production of the "Ethylene-Polyethylene" plant of the "Azerikimya" Production Union have been completed.
Sequence of works carried out on the H=120m reinforced-concrete chimney:
- Installation of 2 electric baskets for cleaning and painting the surface of the reinforced-concrete chimney.
- Installation and use of 2 ground-operated electric winches for lifting and lowering paints and tools.
- Cleaning the surface of the reinforced-concrete chimney from the burnt and peeled old emulsion paint and bringing it to a rough state.
- Plastering the cracked and peeled parts of the chimney surface with a special fire-resistant plaster solution.
- Painting with a 40-micron-thick epoxy-resin-based primer coat.
- Painting twice with a 120-micron-thick acrylic polyurethane resin-based glossy paint (white and red colours).
- Cleaning the peeled old paint from the service platform and its railings and painting with a 70-micron-thick special acrylic Epoxy-Polyamide primer; also painting the metal structures of the stairs and service platform with a special acrylic red topcoat based on Acrylic-Polyisocyanate, in 2 coats with a total thickness of 100 microns.
